Life All Our Own

I don't know if we each have a destiny, or if we're all just floating around accidental-like on a breeze, but I, I think maybe it's both. Maybe both is happening at the same time.

~ Forrest Gump ~

What is 'Destiny'? Is it the force of a being beyond our comprehension, guiding us through life as it has been laid out for us? Or is it a story we write for ourselves?

If a destiny is predetermined for us, if we are all merely the marionettes to an almighty pupeteer, why do we struggle against a current that shall claim us in the end? Why do criminals face prison or death for what they were made to do. Is God to blame for their actions?

Nothing is predetermined. Each day is written anew, each letter carefully inscribed in the sand of the hourglass we have built for ourselves. We make our own choices, we determine our own fate. 'Fatalism' is merely that word that seeks to hold us down as we take to the skies. We can change the world.

Our Vietnam

What difference does it make to the dead, the orphans, and the homeless, whether the mad destruction is wrought under the name of totalitarianism or the holy name of liberty and democracy?

Is this the 'War on Terrorism', as the White House assures us? Or is it a war for oil, a war for supremacy, and an annhialation and slaughter of a people? Either way... It's a war.

Welcome To Moose's World

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

I-I-I-I-I...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You-oo-oo-oo-oo...
You may say-ay-ay-ay I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday-ay-ay-ay you will join u-u-us
And the wo-o-o-orld will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You-oo-oo-oo-oo...
You may say-ay-ay-ay I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday-ay-ay-ay you will join u-u-us
And the wo-o-o-orld will live as one

Our generation is one of stories, stories to be shared if only we are fortunate enough to make it through the cold and bitter nights that cloud within our minds, if only we can succeed against the bleakest of odds. We are those faced with sickening reality, as the rose-colored lens of our predecessors is hastily withdrawn. We have witnessed true pain, known perserverence against all doubt. An imperceptible evil has seeped its way through all our consciousness, preying on the hope within our hearts, uprooting all optimism, and eradicating the very seed of humanity at the core of each soul. Our society functions solely on that unpaved road of true denial, none willing to admit the painful truth; we yearn for a gentle journey and a solid plane beneath our feet, yet, in our futile attempt to escape, we merely face a rugged terrain that seeks to encase us in that filthy reality we run blindly away from. Only change will save us from the fate we have driven as a stake through the bitterly soused mud, the substance exuding into the wood, coming to claim the will of all. This fatalistic entity is powerless against those with true belief. We must grasp onto that force that is love as our sole savior in this battle. Only that can pull us from the deepening pit of a sickening truth; only that can mend those odious stitches of our society as they rapidly fray away from all existence. Only love.
